I find it interesting and a little disturbing to hear that on the first day of Christmas shopping (four hours after we give thanks for what we have) a day that we set aside to honor the baby Jesus a bunch of people trample and leave a man dying to buy the lasted trinket. Have we lost all sense of ourselves and are we no longer a civilized society? Don't you just love the excuses? It was a herd mentality, or what where the people suppose to do get trampled themselves? Why do we instictively try to find excuses?
Should Wal-Mart have put up barriers or hired security? Probably! The question is forseeability. Wal-Mart does have a duty to protect its employees. The problem I have is that if it hadn't happened anywhere else or in the past how do you get to forseeability? The media has been talking about "Black Friday" since the beginning of November. No one ever talked about or asked the question; will the bargin hunters knock down each other to get to the plasma TV? NO!! How many people have died waiting outside a ticket master waiting for Brittney Spears' concert tickets or a movie theatre waiting for tickets to the latest Brad Pitt movie? None!! I can tell you that more people have been waiting for concert tickets to the favorite artist than waited outside the Wal-Mart store on Nov 28th. What about the thousands of people waiting to audition for American Idol? No one pushed another down and trampled them in order to be the first to sign up for the show.
I wonder if The View or Keith Oberman or Rachel Maddow will book Pastor Rick Warren on their show to promote his book "The Purpose of Christmas" where he talks about Jesus and why he was born. He was born to be our savior. I truely believe we need his saving grace now more than ever. "An angel appeared and said "fear not; for, behold I bring you good tidings of great joy" (Luke 2:10). "For unto you is born this day...a savior who is Christ the lord" (Luke 2:11). "Glory to God...peace on earth good will toward men" (Luke 2:14). Can you imagine anyone saying things like that on MSNBC?
I truely believe that we need to come to grips with the kind of country we want to be and leave to our children. I have no children, but you know what I mean. Why is it backward thinking to want to live in a country where a handshake is a binding agreement. Why do we find it necessary to put onto our children the thought processes of adults. If you argue that an eight year old boy should be treated like you and I why can't I argue that if an eight year old boy can be tried as an adult then why do we spend so much energy making sure that Phillip Morris cigarette company not advertise to that same eight year old. Why is it not justified to argue that an eight or fifteen year old girl should not have to get her mothers permission to get pierced ears or a tattoo. I am told that is different and then go into the same arguement I make about criminal behavior. The growth of the mind and body or the limitations thereof (Sorry pet peeve). Why is it mean to not allow a woman the right to terminate a pregnancy even when she was stupid one night? My answer is why do you want to punish the innocent baby? Is killing an unborn baby, fetus, peanut, just a bunch of molecules (or what ever you want to call it) the acts of a civilized society? My favorite subject is the starving of a live women. The caring people claim that she won't feel a thing because endorphins will create a peaceful end. Has anyone remembered the plane load of crash survivors in the Andes eating each other because they were starving to death. If starving someone is so peaceful then how do you explain that. What about the children in Ethiopia or other African countries with young children crying due to the lack of food and the extended bellies?
See when you peel away the arguments from the left even an alcholic like me (just like Glenn Beck) can refute them. The longer we go and the more we allow the athiest's and the secularist the farther down the road we will go toward our own distruction not unlike Rome, or the Israelites constantly being driven out of Israel for their lack of honor to God. If we are not careful Planned Parenthood will replace parents and the ACLU will replace marrigae to a dating ritual like going to the movies was in the 50's. From here on children will be produced in a test tube and Nancy Pelosi will raise them to worship her and Barak Obama. The new king of America. Hitler was able to take a pro democratic group of people who were in extreme financial distress and convinced them that an unknown politician should lead them out of that distress. Before anyone goes off half cocked I am not calling the president-elect Hilter. I am saying that the similarities or scary. We are in a financial crisis and an unknown has been elected to a people who love democracy. If the "Fairness Doctrine" is imposed watch out. If Fox News is made to go out of business then watch out. That is all I am saying. Obama is NOT Hitler. Obama is a shrewed politician with some very undemocratic ideas. The Fairness Doctrine the second amendment and Eric Holder as Attorney General are the areas we need to keep a very close watch on period.
The conservative movement is and should always remain the protector of a civilized society. A society that seats a government that gets road blocks out of our businesses and promotes and encourages Churches to feed, house, nurse the poor and sick. When the government got a hold of our money they have put road blocks up for businesses, forced more people into poverty, and looks to condemn property instead of providing shelter to the homeless. The government has allowed our hospitals, doctors and insurance companies be harrassed and blackmailed into a system that creates millions of unisured americans by lawyers.
The fight has been put in jeopardy since FDR became president. If you think he was such a great president just remember his speech to congress in 1941 that ...we should be free from want... That was the start of a slide down to the things we demand from our government. Cradle to grave needs fulfilled. It has been pushed by most politicians since FDR and now try to get elected telling your constituence to vote for me and I will see that you will pay for your own health care and childrens education and if you buy a house you have to pay the mortgage; put that up against the other guy telling them that he will provide all that for them. It is a challenge and we need to fight for it. We both know that it is the only way we are going to save our civilization. Let us start the fight now for 2012 when Sarah Palin can lead us the rest of the way.
God Bless America.
Merry Christmas.
